About Hairdressing
From client consultations to colouring, this Apprenticeship covers all the basics of hairdressing, plus optional units on skills like promoting products, perming, or relaxing different types of hair.
As an Apprentice, you’ll be working as a salon junior, assisting senior staff whilst training as a junior stylist. Duties might include booking appointments, shampooing, conditioning, drying and styling hair, and mixing and applying hair colouring. You’ll also study issues such as the effects of chemicals on hair and skin, and the principles of hair colour selection.
Advanced Apprentices develop their cutting and colouring skills to carry out all the latest fashion techniques.
Assessment
Assessment is in the workplace and takes place whilst the apprentice performs their normal work duties. This shows that they are acquiring the skills and knowledge to effectively carry out the job.
