What is a modern apprenticeship in ICT?
A modern apprenticeship in ICT is designed to give young people the ability to gain the skills in using, maintaining and managing the information systems, the skills developed are needed by employers both now and in the future.

The apprenticeship can run from twelve months through to three years, depending on the skills needed and the background/ previous knowledge and experience of the apprentice. 

Who is the apprenticeship for?
The Level 2 Apprenticeship in IT and Telecommunications support is suitable for candidates who want to work in the following or similar roles:
• IT Operations Technicians • IT User Support • Network Administrators• Network Engineers • Telecoms Engineers • Data Clerk/Input Assistant • Computer engineering • IT managers •

The Level 2 Apprenticeship for IT Users is suitable for people who want to work in the following, or similar job roles:
Software professionals • Systems Analysts • Data Clerk/Input Assistant • Computer engineering • Software professionals • Animators • Web Designers • IT Managers • Administrative Assistant

How long will the apprenticeship take to complete?
The time taken for the apprenticeship is flexible, it will be based on the apprentices existing knowledge, qualifications and experience. The minimum length of apprenticeship could be six months or it could take up to two years.
