David Tierney

Was unemployed for almost two years, when he started his first course with Training at Hopwood on 27th July 2010.

He felt he would benefit from a refresher course in IT and Office Skills, as he recognised the value of having transferable skills whilst he was in the jobs market. David also took advantage of gaining an insight into other work sectors, including Health and Social Care and Hospitality and Catering of which he now has recognised qualifications.

David’s,confidence improved during this time, at employer interviews he attended, it allowed him to draw on the experiences he shared at Orchard, he felt that an employers perception of him engaged in a programme of learning, was really positive and that he was not just doing nothing, he was actually making an effort to find employment. This approach proved to be a great success for David he has now secured a temporary position with Argos and is hopeful for the future.
