RADAMA Prepares Potential Apprentices for the World of Work
RADAMA Summer School The Summer School programme, funded through GM Challenge, was delivered collaboratively by seven providers including Orchard Training Solutions the employer engagement arm of Hopwood Hall College.
The programme covered areas such as personal presentation, interview preparation, effective CV’s,application form completion, employment rights and responsibility, advanced interview techniques, personal confidence, team working, first aid and intensive work tasters.
After only 3 weeks 3 of the group had secured employment and will start their Apprenticeship soon. Other members of the group sent off numerous applications and CV’s and have interviews lined up over the coming weeks, including Jack Kesterton, following a successful work trial he has been offered a position at Green Brothers Ltd, in Littleborough, a Land Rover repair specialist. Jack will have the opportunity to do a Motor Vehicle Apprenticeship involving a day release college attendance at Hopwood Hall College arranged through Orchard Training Solutions.
Feedback from the sessions from both staff and young people was excellent and RADAMA hope to be able to run another group in January 2011.
