Hannah Collier's Success Story

The programme was delivered over an 8 week period and gave Hannah the opportunity to gain an insight into the industry sector, covering a range of topics inc awareness of Safeguarding, Health and safety, personal development, communicating effectively and duty of care.

Hannah updated her Food Safety certificate; she achieved certificates for First Aid awareness, Safeguarding, Moving and Handling and Health and Safety in the work place. Hannah felt that the certificates she achieved gave her the confidence required when applying for vacancies. Hannah received support with job search and updating her CV as well as guidance on applying for positions. She was able to demonstrate that she had engaged in learning and so willing to learn new things which she feels is what employers are looking for in an individual.

Hannah feels the course has been a huge success she enjoyed making new friends and really enjoyed the course. Hannah has now secured a position at Littleborough Care Home as a Care Assistant, she explained that the course prepares you about what to expect in the work place and the duties that are involved in the job, it opens your eyes to what the work really involves.
Hannah is looking forward to starting an Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care in the near future that will be arranged through Orchard Training Solutions, the employer engagement arm of Hopwood Hall College.

Hopwood Hall College offers up to 4,500 pounds to employ apprentices!

Training@Hopwood (The employer engagement arm of Hopwood Hall College) is currently offering employers incentives of £1,500 to recruit apprentices into existing teams. Employers can recruit up to 3 new apprentices under the incentive scheme.

The offer is available to employers with fewer than 250 employees, who have not recruited an apprentice in the previous three years. The apprentice must be between 16-24 years of age.

The aim from government is to get young people back into work, whilst supporting them in developing the skills they require for a successful career. The apprenticeship route via Hopwood Hall College offers an excellent boost to employers, improving the bottom line, competitiveness and overall cost effectiveness.

Apprentices can be new or existing employees between 16-64 years of age. The incentive is only on offer for those aged 16-24. We have more than 200 different apprenticeships available, including accounting, team leading, management and butchery.
