Who is the course for?

This course is designed as the next step in information technology.So, if you have had very limited use of computers, or none at all, and wish to develop a foundation understanding in computing, this is the course for you.

Is this course for me?

This course can be completed within 14 hours classroom time.

You need some experience of computing, preferably attendance to our ‘Information Technology Stage 1’ course.If not, some basic experience in word processing and file management would be required.You will need a good standard of English and some basic mathematical ability to get the most out of this course.

What does it cover?

This course covers the following areas:

  • Foundation Windows XP
  • Intermediate Word Processing
  • Foundation and Intermediate Spreadsheets
  • Foundation and Intermediate Graphs and Charts
  • Foundation and Intermediate Presentations

What will I be able to do?

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Perform basic service task in Windows XP
  • Write and edit written documentation to a good standard
  • Build and edit spreadsheets competently and produce simple tables
  • Create and edit graphs and charts generated from your spreadsheets
  • Create, edit and run simple projector presentations

What do I get out of it?

You will receive an eDCC qualification in each specific area of learning listed above.The eDCC is verified by the Oxford Cambridge and RSA Examinations board (OCR).These are recognised industry standard qualifications are
